What you’ll be doing…

These are exciting times for Tableau as we are expanding our global reach. As Tableau’s Japan Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the go-to-market launch strategy as well as execution to support our sales goals and objectives for Japan. This position is responsible for understanding the market and sales challenges of marketing software in Japan. You will work out of Tableau’s Tokyo office and work very closely with the US marketing team. Acting as the primary marketing point of contact for the Japanese market, this role will suit a dynamic marketer who is highly organized and able to multi-task. The successful candidate will have a background in technology marketing, knowledge of the BI market and deep marketing experience.

Your responsibilities include:
Demand generation - Develop local demand and lead generation programs that extend and complement Tableau’s North American Marketing initiatives by developing programs to local market needs.
Sales Enablement – Work closely with Japan sales leadership and sales team to build best-in-class messaging capabilities and sales tools to complement the sales team’s selling approach.
Events - Identify appropriate events for the Japanese market , ensure success of events from branding, promotions, and f ollow-up as well as develop and execute Tableau’s field events in local areas.
Public and Analyst Relations - Help identify topics and appropriate publications for target in the market, support media relationship-bui lding efforts. Provide feedback and guidance on articles, w hite papers and special reports and further develop local case studies.
Partner Marketing – You’ll support our re cruitment and enablement of our partner channel by identifying partner programs and executing them with precision. Work with our partner team to ensure partner success in Japan.
Analytics – You’ll use tools like Tableau to analyze lead flow while constantly exploring and testing new ways to drive more leads and more conversions.
New Markets – You’ll research and asse ss new ways to drive new leads, leveraging various media, targeted lists, and other opportunities to get out there.
Database Marketing –You’ll understand the best ways to segment a nd leverage this asset to drive more results.

Who you are…
Experienced. You have 7+ years experience, including at least two years driving and overseeing marketing efforts for a technology product in Japan.
Technically Savvy. You can get up to speed and develop a deep understanding of the market, our solutions and our competition. Ideally, you have knowledge of the business intelligence or analytics market.
Analytical. You love understanding data, patterns and trends. Numbers are your friends.
Energy and Enthusiasm. You believe in what we’re doing and won’t stop at anything to deliver on your goals.
A True Team Player. You’re the best at what you do and you know how to work with your colleagues to get their best.
Web-curious. Some light knowledge of HTML and websites. Desire to deepen those skills.
Detail oriented, nothing gets overlooked when it comes to you.
Passion for Great Work. Nothing less than your best will do.
Strong communication skills.
Educated. You have a BA degree in Marketing or equivalent related experience.
